CANDLE LOVE

We are pleased to announce that award winning Director Vincent Singleton is attached to direct our feature film, Candle Love. Vince is from Pembroke, Illinois and has a Masters in Fine Arts from Columbia College, a premier film school in Chicago, where he is also an adjunct instructor. Vince and Drew worked together on his short film, The Porter, which won the top prize in the JP Morgan Chase Legacy Film Challenge, co-sponsored by HBO and Kodak. We look forward to working with a Chicago director to tell a story, Candle Love, that was written with Chicago in mind as the back-drop. We were particularly interested in working with Vince because of his penchant for professional processes, passion for storytelling, and attention to detail when shooting a clean, great looking, picture. Vince’s filmography can be found on IMDb. In addition to his film credits, Vince has directed commercials and music videos. A formal press release will soon follow.

Vince and Drew are already working through the Development phase and plan to move into Preproduction this summer. Vince has given Drew his director notes on the script. As the film’s writer, Drew will be handling the rewrites. The film will be shot in Illinois, mostly around the Chicago area, and possibly in other areas of the state. The production is targeted for late Fall 2010. Vince is currently in discussions with DPs. We will be finalizing the budget, attaching principal actors, and we will be bringing location people on board soon. We are conducting a special search for an unknown male Hispanic comedic actor for a breakout lead role. Contact me for details. Auditions for smaller speaking roles and atmosphere cast will take place this summer. The budget for this film will come from private sources and will not be disclosed to the general public. This will be a non-union shoot. All contracts will be negotiated individually.

UNTITLED HORROR COMEDY

As you may know, the first draft of this new feature screenplay was completed a few months ago. Drew has since completed two major rewrites, reducing the script’s length by 22 pages. But, he's not done shortening the script yet! This project will require original music and lyrics. Accordingly, the script will be shortened 12 more pages to accommodate future lyrics and music. This project is highly original and very marketable! It will require a close collaboration with the hip hop community. The script, minus lyrics and music, is scheduled to be completed by this summer. This project will be in Development while Candle Love is in Production and Post, and I will likely seek studio involvement. This is going to be hot!
